What sports can I use INSAIT JOY for?
INSAIT JOY has been specifically designed for soccer players at every level of the game.
Do I need to pay subscription fee for the INSAIT JOY app?
No. The INSAIT JOY app is available to you free of charge.
What does INSAIT JOY measure
INSAIT JOY measures 16 key metrics that reflects your performance in Speed, Acceleration, Stamina, Power and Foot Balance, including:
Total Distance, Distance Per Minute, High-speed Distance, Sprint Distance, Average Sprint Distance, Calorie, Top Speed, Total Sprints, Total High-speed Runs, Top Acceleration, Max Jump, Total Jumps, Total Sharp Turns, Use of Left Foot, Use of Right Foot, Max Kicking Power.
What device do I need?
From the soccer trackers to the INSAIT JOY Smart Shin Guards all the way through to the charging cables and INSAIT JOY app, you’ll have everything you need to take your game to the next level.
How durable are the shin guards? Are the INSAIT JOY soccer trackers well-protected?
INSAIT JOY has been certified by CE/FCC/IC standards to ensure safety during normal use. It has also been CE-certified with the EN13061 standards to ensure the impact absorbing properties and penetration resistance properties of the shin guards, as well as the amount of protective coverage and comfortness.
The shin guards adopt hard shield protective front plates and EVA backings that deliver maximum duration, impact absorption and comfort, and are manufactured by industry-leading shin guard suppliers for major sports brands including Nike, Adidas and others.
INSAIT JOY soccer trackers are seamlessly inserted to ensure they are well-protected by the shin guards, meanwhile leaving you to focus on the game without a feeling of any foreign objects.
How does INSAIT JOY recognise different actions?
INSAIT JOY uses advanced machine-learning algorithms to analyse sensor data and the algorithms are developed and trained to identify different patterns of in-game actions such as jumps, runs, kicks and turns. Actions such as kicks on the pads or tackles are excluded to ensure that these actions do not affect the measurements.
How does INSAIT JOY tell which foot is used?
The Left and Right tracker is paired with each other before the product is shipped to you. They are being programmed as “left” and “right”. Make sure you are wearing them on the correct leg.
Does INSAIT JOY measure heart rate?
No. While INSAIT JOY doesn’t measure heart rate, it records performance data that matters most on the pitch.
Does INSAIT JOY use GPS? Do I need to set up or wear anything to make INSAIT JOY working?
INSAIT JOY does not use GPS positioning. And there’s no need to set up anything (like a workstation) or wear any other devices.
INSAIT JOY smart shin guards are designed to make you (or your opponents) feel nothing at all other than a normal pair of shin guards. Just turn on the INSAIT JOY soccer trackers, insert into the shin guards and put them on – like a normal pair of shin guards. They protect you from injuries and impacts while at the same time measure your performance. The trackers are 100% embedded into the shin guards so that you can enjoy the game while it won’t give you any feeling of foreign objects.
Can I use INSAIT JOY for indoor sessions or futsal games?
Yes. INSAIT JOY does not require GPS or any other signal sources and therefore works perfectly with indoor sessions as well. And in fact you can use it in any forms of soccer game or training.
How accurate is INSAIT JOY?
INSAIT JOY measures over 100 metrics per second. The algorithm is designed with numerous machine-learning process to ensure accuracy. The overall accuracy can reach as much as 90% or even higher with some metrics. We keep improving our algorithm to deliver accurate and reliable information. These improvements can be easily applied to your INSAIT JOY with software or firmware updates released from time to time.
Are the trackers waterproof?
The INSAIT JOY soccer trackers are IP65 proof, meaning they are water-resistant but not waterproof. Make sure you don’t put them in the washing machine or submerge in water.
How do I request data removal?

How old do you have to be to use the app?
Based on current data protection legislation, if you’re under the age of 16 you will need your parent or guardians’ permission to download and use the app. If you’re under the age of 13, most data protection laws don’t allow you to use our app regardless of parental consent. If you have any questions or concerns about this, please contact us directly.
Getting Started
How quickly do I have to sync my data after I've used INSAIT JOY?
We recommend you sync your data at the earliest available opportunity after the session.
Downloading INSAIT JOY app
INSAIT JOY app is compatible with iPhones (iOS 11 and above) and Android (9.0 and above) smart phones and can be downloaded from the Apple App store and Google Play store.

Recharging your smart shin guards
1. Power Connection:
- Connect the INSAIT JOY soccer trackers to a power outlet using the included USB cable.
Note:
- Ensure the power adapter used has a 5V/1A output.
2. Charging Time:
- The INSAIT JOY soccer trackers will be fully charged in approximately 1.5 hours.
3. Maintenance Tip:
- To maintain optimal performance, recharge the smart shin guards at least once a week.
Turning ON INSAIT JOY soccer trackers
1. Left Tracker:
- Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds until the purple light begins to flicker.
2. Right Tracker:
- Gently shake the soccer tracker back and forth a few times until the purple light flickers.
Turning OFF INSAIT JOY soccer trackers
1. Left Tracker:
- Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds until the light turns off.
2. Right Tracker:
- The Right tracker will automatically power off after remaining still for 10 minutes, or
- Turn off by following the on-screen instructions after completing data synchronization with the INSAIT JOY app.
- The idle time before automatic shutoff can be adjusted in the INSAIT JOY app as 2 minutes or 5 minutes.
Inserting INSAIT JOY soccer trackers into smart shin guards
1. Left Tracker:
- Insert the Left tracker into the left Smart Shin Guard.
- Ensure the strip on the tracker aligns with the slot on the shin guard, and the indicator light is visible through the hole on the shin guard shell.
2. Right Tracker:
- Similarly, insert the Right tracker into the right Smart Shin Guard, following the same alignment and visibility steps.
Measuring your performance metrics with smart shin guards
1. Setup:
- Turn on the INSAIT JOY soccer trackers and insert them into the Smart Shin Guards.
- The blue light will flicker twice, indicating the Smart Shin Guards are instandby mode and ready for use.
2. Usage:
- Wear the Smart Shin Guards.
- The soccer trackers will automatically begin measuring data after the first 30 steps, and the blue light will flicker slowly to indicate active data collection.
Notes:
- The number of footsteps required to trigger data measurement may vary by player but typically ranges between 30 to 40 steps. For best results, turn on the Smart Shin Guards before your session begins and walk or jog briefly to warm up.
- Avoid connecting the Smart Shin Guards to your mobile phone during data measurement.
Light indicator guide
Slow Red Flicker:
- Indicates low battery. Recharge the INSAIT JOY soccer trackers.
Fast Red Flicker:
- Indicates a charging issue. Disconnect and reconnect the charger to retry.
Solid Red Light:
- INSAIT JOY soccer trackers are currently recharging.
Solid Green Light:
- INSAIT JOY soccer trackers are fully charged and ready for use.
Flickering Purple Light:
- Smart shin guards are initializing and starting up.
Two Blue Flickers:
- Smart shin guards are in standby mode.
Slow Blue Flicker:
- Smart shin guards are actively measuring and collecting data.
Solid Blue Light:
- Smart shin guards are synchronizing data with the app.

Resetting trackers to factory settings
If an error occurs, you can reset your INSAIT JOY soccer trackers to factory settings. Here’s how you can do this:
- Open the INSAIT JOY app and navigate to Me > My Smart Shin Guards.
- Ensure your mobile phone’s Bluetooth is enabled and both trackers are powered on.
- Tap Device Info to connect to your trackers.
- Select Reset to restore the trackers to factory settings.
Note:
- Resetting your trackers to factory settings will erase any unsynchronized data stored in the INSAIT JOY soccer trackers. However, this process will not affect any data already synced to your user account
Unpair trackers from account
- Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone, and ensure the INSAIT JOY trackers are powered on.
- Navigate to Me and My Smart Shin Guards, tap Unpair and follow the on-screen instructions.
Pausing data measurement for water/injury/half-time break?
If you want to pause data measurement during the session:
- You can turn off your Left tracker by long pressing the button for 3s.
- Just remember to turn it back on again so data measurement will resume.
Do I need to keep INSAIT JOY connected to the phone during the game?
Absolutely no. The INSAIT JOY soccer trackers come with internal storage for up to 2 hours. They keep tracks of your performance and enable you to synchronise data after the session.
Do I need to input my position?
You don’t need to add your position for measurements. But you can do that while sharing your stats on social media, or creating your player profile.
Troubleshooting
How do I report an issue?
To report an issue please submit a ticket by emailing to support@gengee.com, and enter in your details of the issue. We will respond to your query as soon as possible.
While reporting an issue, it is highly recommended to provide us with the following information and detailed descriptions, in order to speed up the process:
- Model of your mobile phone (e.g. iPhone 11 Pro);
- OS version of your mobile phone (e.g. Android 14.1.1);
- Version of the INSAIT JOY app (e.g. v4.3.2);
- Screenshot or video recording of the issue;
- Picture or video describing the light status on your INSAIT JOY soccer trackers, especially when the problem is related to recharging, unable to turn on/off, or unable to sync stats.
Unable to receive verification email during account registration
Here are some things to check:
- Check your InBox and Spam folders as soon as you try to register;
- If using a Gmail email address, check the Promotions and Spam;
- If you are using a company/work email address, the company's IT policies may block the verification email;
- If you have requested more than one link, you must use the most recent link.
If these checks and steps do not resolve the issue, please get in touch and we will escalate this to our Support Team.
The lights on trackers keep flashing and the app crashes while syncing
There are errors in the data stored in your INSAIT JOY soccer trackers. Such errors occur when you start too many new measurements without syncing previously stored session data.
In this case, the best solution is to reset your trackers, allowing them to erase all previously stored data. Follow these steps:
- Open the INSAIT JOY app and navigate to Me > My Smart Shin Guards.
- Ensure your phone’s Bluetooth is enabled and both trackers are powered on.
- Tap Device Info to connect to your trackers.
- Select Reset to restore the trackers to factory settings.
Notes:
- Resetting the trackers will erase any unsynchronized data stored on the devices. However, this process will not affect data already synced to your user account.
- To avoid future occurrence of such errors, we highly recommend syncing after each measurement immediately, allowing trackers to transfer data to the app while releasing internal storage for any future measurements.
Trackers do not measure stats properly or display solid blue light after initiating
The INSAIT JOY soccer trackers may enter an error state if previously stored session data is not synced before starting new measurements, exceeding the devices’ storage limits. In rare cases, the trackers may also enter this error state even when used correctly.
As a result, the trackers may not fully activate and fail to measure stats properly (e.g. no stats or only a small amount of stats recorded).
To resolve this issue, please reset the trackers to erase all stored data and restore them to factory settings. Follow these steps:
- Open the INSAIT JOY app and navigate to Me > My Smart Shin Guards.
- Ensure your phone’s Bluetooth is enabled and both trackers are powered on.
- Tap Device Info to connect to your trackers.
- Select Reset to restore the trackers to factory settings.
Notes:
- Resetting the trackers will erase any unsynchronized data stored on the devices. However, this process will not affect data already synced to your user account.
- To avoid future occurrence of such errors, we highly recommend syncing after each measurement immediately, allowing trackers to transfer data to the app while releasing internal storage for any future measurements.
The app says my INSAIT JOY smart shin guards are paired with an existing user
Please follow the instructions here to unpair the trackers using the engineer mode.
My trackers won't connect.
We recommend you try these steps:
- Ensure your Bluetooth is enabled on your phone
- Ensure your trackers are fully charged and powered on
- Proceed to sync your trackers
If the above steps do not work, please contact customer support.
I've lost my tracker. Is it possible to locate it with the app?
Unfortunately you cannot locate a lost tracker via the apps.
